Fenwick wins Boys Water Polo
After falling out of last year's State Playoffs in the Sectional Round, the Fenwick Friars were determined to get the Title back in Oak Park as they took on the Stevenson Patriots for the State Championship in Lincolnshire. The Friars left no doubt as they cruised past the Pats to capture this year's title.
St. Ignatius captures Girls Water Polo crown
The Girls Final featured two teams both looking to win their first ever Water Polo State Championship. Despite a great effort by the Knights of Lincoln-Way Central, the Wolfpack of St. Ignatius were victorious as they won the title last weekend in Lincolnshire.
Waubonsie advances to the 3A Sectionals
Last weekend in Aurora it was the Mustangs of Metea Valley facing a team they have never beaten, Waubonsie Valley, in a Class 3A Regional Championship. The Warriors kept their winning streak over Metea alive as they beat the Mustangs 1-0 to advance to the Bolingbrook Sectional.
Boys Lacrosse in St. Charles
Earlier this month St. Charles North and St. Charles East Boys Lacrosse teams had to postpone their crosstown showdown due to rain. Last Friday they finally got a chance to face off at the East Side Sports Complex in St. Charles. After a tight 1st Half, the North Stars offense came to life as St. Charles North coasted to a win to cap off an undefeated season in the Upstate Eight Conference.
CFD torches CPD at St. Laurence
St. Laurence High School in Burbank was the site for the 4th Annual First Responders Bowl pitting the Blaze of the Chicago Fire Department against the Enforcers of the Chicago Police Department. The Blaze made it 2 in a row as they lit up the scoreboard on their way to a 37-7 win over The Enforcers.
