17 Game of the Week teams have advanced in 2016 playoffs

As the 2016 IHSA Football playoffs continue this weekend, several teams featured on CN100 Sports this season continue their quest for a state title.

Across the entire playoff field, 17 teams that appeared on CN100 Game of the Week broadcasts this year remain in postseason contention in four different classes. That includes Class 8A No. 1 seed Loyola Academy and four other schools – Homewood-Flossmoor, Oswego and Palatine in 8A, and Rolling Meadows in 7A – carrying a perfect 10-0 record into the second round.

CN100, The Comcast Network, broadcasts high school football games each week on Saturdays, Sunday, Mondays and Tuesdays. Every game is also available in HD throughout Chicagoland with Xfinity On Demand by clicking Get Local and CN100. X1 users, look for Get Local under the Xfinity Services tab.

With Xfinity On Demand, you can relive all the action of your favorite school's game on CN100 or, with the playoffs getting underway, scout next week's opponent. You can also see your favorite team’s game highlights on our YouTube channel.

Playoff qualifying schools featured during 2016 include (in order by class): Loyola Academy, Homewood-Flossmoor, Glenbard West, Oswego, Lincoln-Way East, Maine South, Barrington, Palatine, Lyons Township, New Trier, Rolling Meadows, Plainfield North, Glenbard North, Batavia, Montini Catholic, Crete-Monee and Marian Central.

Three second-round match-ups in Class 8A are between Game of the Week schools: Homewood-Flossmoor vs. Glenbard West; Palatine vs. Lyons; and Maine South vs. Barrington.
